Litcom was engaged to support La Rocca Creative Cakes (LRCC) in the process of selecting an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to support their key business operations as well as an implementation partner that would support and partner with them in this very important initiative.

LRCC’s has been managing its business operations using a number of disparate, disconnected systems, software tools, and manual processes. As the company has grown and further looking to expand its operations, it has been increasingly challenging to manage information across its business functions (Finance, Order Entry, Purchasing, Inventory and Warehouse, Production Planning, Shipping and Logistics, R&D, QA, and Lot Tracking). LRCC had conducted a preliminary investigation of potential solutions, but recognized that a comprehensive review of its business requirements was needed in order to effectively evaluate potential ERP solutions in the market.

Several observations were made, including:

Identified business processes, essential information, and functionality necessary to support the company’s future strategic and operational needs;

Identified high level business improvement targets that would represent potential benefits that the new ERP solution will support;

Defined vendor selection criteria (high level demonstration script);

Confirmed 2 potential vendors and organized full day vendor/detailed product/solution demonstrations;

Worked with vendors to estimate the full cost to complete the implementation of their solutions

Facilitated the client through the process of selecting the finalist vendor and high level implementation plan.

As a result of the observations made, La Rocca was able to select an ERP product powered by the fastest growing ERP platform in the world, featuring food industry-specific functionality and engage an implementation partner who specializes in the food industry with a proven track record for helping their customers lower costs, improve food safety, and manage compliance to keep customers successful.
